Compost preparation, natural fertilizer making

What is Compost? :
Compost, or in other words, compote, is a natural fertilizer that consists of the decomposition of vegetable kitchen waste, herbs, branches and leaves, in short, all vegetable residues and animal manures, piled up in one place.

Compost Making:

To make compost, first of all, you need a small garden. Then follow the steps below one by one,
Choose the right container, the best thing is to dig a suitable sized hole in the ground, or you can make a compost bin made of brick, wood or wire cage, the bottom of which should be soil. Apart from these, ready-made compost bins are also available for sale, you can use them too.

Of course, we can also use a pit or ditch dug into the soil for composting.

What can you put in your compost?

Green material (those with high nitrogen content)

lawn mowing residues,
Fresh vegetable and fruit peels, scraps,
fresh herbs,
Tea waste, kitchen waste.
leaves,
Fresh farm manure.

Brown material (Carbon providers)

pieces of branches, tree barks, sawdust, sawdust, pine needles, dry leaves, Newsprint, Straw, straw. etc.

What should not be put in compost?

Meat, meat products, Milk and milk products, cat and dog feces, Fatty food residues, oil, Processed coated, nylon, aluminum etc. papers, Medical waste, diapers, sanitary pads, Newspaper and magazine papers (due to printing chemicals), Plant residues containing diseases and pests, Weeds with seeds on them.

The secret of a good compost is balancing the Carbon/Azotoratio. You will simply adjust this as you build your compost pile.

You should prepare your pile layer by layer.

Start making the pile with the brown material, You can start putting the mixture you prepared in layers, 15 cm. brown material in height, 15 cm on top. Place green material at a height of Using a pitchfork, gently mix the two layers together and smooth them out. Sprinkle a nitrogenous chemical fertilizer on it with your hand, as if you were sprinkling salt (this speeds up fermentation).

Then 3 cm. Add garden soil. Water the layer you prepared.

Then finish your pile with plant material and soil again... and soil on top.

After 4 - 5 months, your fertilizer will be ready for use. By the way, you don't need to touch it. Leave your fertilizer in the hands of nature. Even if you have a lot of vegetable residue, the height of the pile should not be more than 1.2 m.

Here are the branches, barks, etc. that you will put in the pile. The pieces must be shredded into small pieces. Branch and garden garbage shredders are now sold in our country. If you live in a house with a large garden, it will be very useful.
